Mimi Brazil started twirling at the age of 3, and began competing in
competitions at 5 years old. Mimi was taught by coaches across North
America, including former Canadian and U.S. National champions. Mimi also
became a Canadian National Champion at age 9, and continued to win
several National titles including Solo Twirl, 2 Baton, and X Strut between
1988-1993. Mimi was also the 6-time Miss Majorette of Canada champion.
After retiring from competition, Mimi began her judging and teaching career.
She has judged at several recreational, National and International events
including Twirlmania Gold Invitational at Walt Disney World, Congressional
Cup in Maryland, and World Championships in Holland 2006, France 2003,
and England 2000.
Mimi has been teaching individual and group events since 1986, and
teaching at the elite level since 1994. During her teaching career, she has
taught several Provincial and National Champions, and has coached athletes
named to the Canadian National Team for the World Championships in
Holland, France and England. Mimi is also the President of the CNBTA
(Canadian National Baton Twirling Association).
